About

Personal Profile

Having had a passion for drawing and painting all my life and studying art through school, I developed a particular interest in portraiture. I focused on human faces for years, drawing my friends and family at any given opportunity. I then went to study German and Linguistics at Nottingham Trent University and in March of 2020 found myself unable to continue my year abroad in Germany.
While living back at home during the pandemic I started drawing portraits again, taking part in Portraits for NHS Heroes until one friend asked if I did dogs. From that point on I didn’t turn back. Three years on, a bachelor and master's degree later and I still look forward to each and every portrait that comes my way. I mostly draw pets in coloured pencil and graphite, as well as people in graphite. I’m constantly exploring and rediscovering new and old mediums such as digital art and watercolour. I also have a passion for drawing and painting landscapes as well as sketching the wildlife around me, from all the birds under the British sun to sheep and cows.

My Ethos

As an artist, my favourite thing about what I do is creating something which evokes powerful feelings out of something that was once a blank piece of paper. I love the whole process of portraiture from connecting with clients and the first stroke of coloured pencil on paper to seeing the portrait finished, packaged up with care and getting the message from my client to let me know that it arrived safely and that seeing their beloved family member in art form brought a tear to their eye. To that reaction I say, I just love to make people cry... happy tears of course.

Particularly when I'm commissioned to draw a pet who has sadly passed away, it means so much to me to provide my clients with something so powerful and meaningful which brings to them happy memories and joy.

As someone who is so passionate about sustainability, I am constantly trying to make sure my packaging is as environmentally friendly as possible. Furthermore, I like to support other small businesses as much as possible by buying my supplies from smaller, independent companies with the same ethos as me.
